A Guide to Mastering Social Media Trends in Bridal

With social media constantly moving, it can be hard to keep up with trends and almost impossible to participate in every single one. So how should you decide which ones to prioritize? 1. Understand the trend

Before filming a Tiktok for trending audio, it is important to do your due diligence and research the trend. Ensuring you understand the audio’s words and background to avoid any possible insensitivities. Also, take the time to explore other videos/posts people are making within the trend to ensure your approach is unique, but still keeps the core idea the same.

2. Know what platform to use

Although things can be in-trend, they may not be trending on every platform. Tiktok, for example, is usually ahead of the trends and may not move over to Instagram Reels until a few weeks later. It is important to understand where the trend is currently popular so you can jump on the trend in a sweet spot- when there aren’t too many videos on it, but also not too few. You can also use this knowledge to batch-create content ahead of time for Instagram. An easy way to find out what platform fits your trend, try using the platform’s specific trend page, such as Tiktok trends or Pinterest trends.

3. Keep in mind who your audience is

Trends are often also specific to a certain audience. What is trending with your brides, may not be the same thing that is trending with your prom, high-school-aged audience. Keep this in mind when filming so that you can show off dresses in the video that will best relate to your audience. A great way to know the audience for a trend goes back to our first tip, research past posts to see who is creating and engaging with these videos. Along with ensuring you are targeting the right target audience, keep in mind who your local audience is. Since these are the people who will most likely be the ones to visit your shop, be sure to meet the expectations for businesses that your area may have.

4. Stay true to your brand

Of course, it is almost important to keep in mind that trends are just that – trends. They will come and go with time. This means that although they are powerful, they are also temporary. So when participating in any trend, be sure that you stay true to your shop’s brand. Staying true to your brand could be simple things such as using or not using audio with curse words, or be a bigger picture by ensuring you continue to use trend-proof marketing strategies so when a trend dies out, you can still reach your brides!
