5 Ways to Jumpstart Your Marketing for the New Year

Can you believe that 2022 is almost here?! This year just flew by! The new year is such a great time to ramp up your marketing strategy, and today we have 5 ideas for you to do just that.

1. Review your paid ads

If you’re spending money on paid advertisements, then it’s crucial to take a look into how they are performing! You don’t want to be putting money towards something that isn’t paying off for you.

Look into each of your ad’s analytics. You can see what is performing well and might decide to put more money towards those avenues! And, you can also see what is not performing well. You might choose to tweak the audience or budget of those ads, or choose to remove them altogether.

The new year is the perfect time to get a fresh start on your paid ads!

2. Look into traffic on your social media

While you’re at it, take a look at how all of your social media profiles are performing. This includes Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Pinterest. Have your platforms grown over the past year? Stayed stagnant? Depleted?

Taking a look at how your followers and engagement performed throughout the past year can help you take a look at what your strategy was. This allows you to make tweaks to your social media plan for the upcoming year, and hopefully continue to or start to grow your presence!

3. Implement a style guide

Speaking of social media — do you have a style guide for images and videos that are taken for your social media? If not, the new year is the perfect time to create one.

This is especially important if you have multiple people working on your social media. You will want to keep your images and videos consistent in terms of style!

Some examples of items that you may want to include in your style guide for social media are:

  • What to wear (or not wear) in pictures/videos
  • Specific colors to use
  • Filters to use
  • Any specific verbiage that you want to be used
  • A general style to stick to (ex: light and airy, boho, warm, etc.)

4. Create a monthly social media calendar

The new year is also the perfect time to create your social media calendars for the year. We recommend starting a calendar for each month in the new year now. You can always add to it or change things as the year goes on, but this keeps you from having to create a new one at the beginning of each month!

On these calendars, you don’t necessarily have to create a full posting schedule for the month, with times/days that you will be posting. We recommend putting general items on here, such as trunk shows. This will help anyone running your social media to see what is coming up to be able to implement that into posts.

5. Set goals

Finally, this is the perfect time to set some marketing goals for the new year. This could be to increase your follower count to a certain number, creating a new opt-in, to get more bookings through social media… the possibilities are endless!

Setting some goals helps keep you accountable and motivated throughout the year as you’re working on all of the marketing things.
