Why You Should Use Pinterest Marketing

So, you just published your new blog post for the week and posted on your social medias. What now? While it may seem a little hopeful to believe you have this extra time, with enough practice in creating content for your bridal shop, you will! A great way to further increase brand awareness without having to create any new content is Pinterest! Using Pinterest to market your bridal shop is an amazing opportunity to drive website traffic and brand awareness.

a guide to using Pinterest to market your bridal shop

Pinterest 101

When starting on Pinterest, the first thing to understand is what makes up content on the platform. Each pin has a visual, description, and a link. Your visual should be vertical at the size of 2:30-600px x 900px. For descriptions, include keywords as well as in the pin title. Descriptions are also the perfect spot to have a clear call-to-action for users. Your link can then send users straight to your website! Like most other social medias, Pinterest also has a version of “stories” called Idea Pins. These, however, do not disappear in 24 hours and can be saved. they are multi-page video pins and do not have a live link like other pins. For this reason, Idea Pins are better used for inspiring rather than connecting users.

When creating your Pinterest a few tips to keep in mind are to avoid excessive blank space and focus on creating captivating visual content that is mobile friendly. Some other data has shown that dresses will do better if someone is wearing it, bit images without faces receive 23% more pins. Keeping these statistics in mind or seeing what other popular boutiques are doing is a great way to start choosing what content will be good for your Pinterest.

Organize!

Once you have your content, you then want to organize your Pins in a way that makes sense and is easy for users to navigate. Pinterest helps with this as you can save your pins into boards and other categories. When making boards, try organizing content into theme/ideas rather than based off products. For example, a board based on showing off your boho style dresses may do better than a board named after the specific dress’ name.

Build a community

Similar to other social medias, Pinterest is an opportunity to build a community. Using keywords, hashtags, following other industry accounts, and promoting your Pinterest can help brides find you and see your beautiful dresses! However, be sure to make this a two-way street of also pinning other users’ content and interacting with your followers! Building a community will help humanize your brands and help you connect better with your brides!

When creating your community on Pinterest, be sure that your content provides value to brides. This can be through showing the same dress on different body types or in different wedding styles. With Pinterest being mainly visual, these demonstrations will help capture brides’ attentions. Keeping in mind who your brides are, you can also create posts to educate that link to your blog posts for more information!

Drive Website Traffic

Marketing your bridal shop with Pinterest is so unique in the fact that it acts like a Search Engine. (Did someone say search engine optimization?!) Using keywords in your profile, pin descriptions, board descriptions, and image alt text are key to increasing your ranking. Your pins are also valuable as they can link users directly to your website in a push of a button. Along with linking all of your pins to your website, you can also build your own website widgets to drive website traffic!
