Utilizing email marketing for your bridal shop is a great way to build leads and create a branded community! But how do you get brides to join your mailing list in the first place? What are Opt-Ins?

Opt-Ins are when a bride gives you permission to send them emails. In some cases you may also choose to use a Double Opt-In process. This means that brides will not only give you their email initially, but will receive a confirmation email with a link to click to officially join your list. Although this may seem like you’re complicating the process, it can be a useful tool to create a mailing list for your email marketing that is truly engaged! Both opt-In types, however, need to compel brides to join your list. How do you write an opt-in that does that? Identify these 2 key elements:

What is Your Pitch?

The first step in creating an opt-in is to create a pitch that adds value to your brides, not one that just adds to their email inbox. This where your offer, lead magnet, blog updates, or other valuable content comes into play! When creating your offer you can also utilize the FOMO (fear of missing out) to get brides to sign up right away!

Identify Who Your Pitching To

Just like any marketing strategy, your email marketing will depend on who your target audience is and where they are in the buyer’s journey. Once identifying this, you will want to ensure that your pitch is sent to the right brides. Your opt-in should show how you can help your brides connect them to where they are now to where they want to be, celebrating their wedding in their dream dress!

Knowing and aligning these elements is key to creating an Opt-In effective. This is because opt-ins call for brides to self reflect to take the next step in their wedding planning process!
