While we are in a very busy season for bridal shops right now, there is always going to be downtime at some point throughout the week. You can choose to make the most of that downtime and put it toward upping your marketing game!
10 Ways to Up Your Marketing Game During Your Downtime
Here are a few things for you & your stylists to do in your downtime while at the shop to help improve your marketing game.
1. Go on Pinterest
Even if you aren’t creating original content, you can always take a few minutes out of your day to re-pin content! This keeps your Pinterest page relevant and will make it more likely to be shown to users.
2. Follow up with brides who didn’t say “yes”
If you’ve had any recent brides who didn’t say “yes” to the dress while at their appointment, follow up with them. You might find out that they found their dress somewhere else — which is totally okay! They might be interested in coming to your shop for bridesmaids, tux rentals, and more.
Or, you might find out that they haven’t found their dress yet! If you’ve had new dresses come in since their appointment, or have a trunk show coming up, you can invite them back in.
3. Ask customers for reviews
Take some time to send texts to brides asking for reviews. You can even enter them in a giveaway for a Starbucks gift card in exchange for a review!
4. Respond to reviews
Speaking of reviews… take a few minutes to respond to some of your recent reviews on Google, Facebook, The Knot, etc. When brides see that you take time to respond to reviews, it makes your brand more trusted!
5. Brainstorm
Of course, if you have downtime and don’t know what to do with it, sit and brainstorm new marketing ideas! This could be new events, a new display for your front window, or ideas for social media.
6. Roleplay with a partner
This is especially helpful when you have new stylists on your team.
7. Make TikTok and Reels content
TikTok and Reels are really trending right now, and can bring a lot of traffic to your pages!
8. Take photos
Of course, taking photos should still be a priority, too… not just video content! Having updated photos of your staff, dresses, and team are so important for social media, ads, and your website.
9. Re-organize the shop
Re-organize your dresses, the front entryway, closets… anything that you can think of! Having great merchandising and appeal to your customers helps them want to shop with you and helps the sale process!
10. Interact on Instagram
Finally, it’s always good to hop on Instagram for at least 15 minutes per day to interact. You should be responding to comments on your page, commenting on other people’s pages, and reacting to stories! This helps you build community with brides and local vendors. It also keeps your Instagram page relevant, which makes it more likely to be suggested to users!
Hopefully, some of these tips can help you figure out little tasks to do in your downtime while at the shop! What are some things that you like to have your team do in their downtime?
