Another Instagram Update??? Yes! We are back once again talking about how your bridal shop could be utilizing the new Instagram Update: Instagram Notes!
What are Instagram Notes
First things first, what are Instagram Notes? This update will bring short disappearing updates or announcements that users can share with their followers or with their close friends. Similar to Instagram Stories, these notes will disappear within 24 hours of posting. Instagram Notes, however, will only appear in the Inbox section of Instagram, above the user’s DMs. Some are relating this new update to old-school statuses on social media because this new feature only allows users to share 60 characters and will not notify users when it is posted. So now that we understand what an Instagram Note is, how should we use them? Here are 4 ideas for your shop to use Instagram Notes to build community and increase awareness.
1. Share Announcements
This update offers the perfect space for your bridal shop to share exciting store news or news of sales! Placed right above brides’ personal DMs, Instagram Notes will put your announcements right where they will always see them!
2. Show Brides That You Value Them
If your goal is to build community, you can show brides that they are valued and heard, then your shop can use notes by wishing users happy holidays or sending appreciation messages to your followers!
3. Ask a Conservation Starting Question
Another great way to build a community with your brides is to ask them conversation-starting questions! Every bride loves to talk about their wedding plans! Your shop can ask brides when their wedding is, to describe their dream dress, share their first dance song, or other fun questions!
4. Post Event Reminders
Of course, you can also use this new platform to remind brides of events such as trunk shows or wedding shows! This is perfect because brides will be sure to see them and can respond to your Instagram Note asking any questions they may have privately!
